Australia

In June 2024, TD Orchestra concluded its three-week international tour with a visit to Melbourne, Australia to attend a convention by Lions Club International, a service and humanitarian organization. TD Orchestra performed in a charity concert during the convention, which was attended by delegates from around the world with Lions Club. The concert featured artists from West Africa, South America, Germany, Japan and Australia, including a DJ to incorporate dance/electronic elements, and it saw the Australia premiere of A Night on the Waterfront and When Nature Went Silent, both composed by TD Orchestra's founder, Tatsuya Daniel.

Moreover, while in Melbourne, members of TD Orchestra visited local high schools for outreach and mentorship in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math). Hosted by Wyndham Tech School, a hub for over 40 secondary schools, TD Orchestra engaged with students from The Grange P-12 College as well as Suzanne Cory High School, a selective entry school in Melbourne. In addition to talking about their own research and pathways, members of the orchestra spoke with the high school students about their ambitions, and offered advice based on their own personal experiences. This first visit to Melbourne was the beginning of a long-term partnership and program between TD Orchestra, Wyndham Tech, and high schools in Melbourne.

TD Orchestra's session with Suzanne Cory made it into one of their newsletters, which can be found here.
