Uganda

In November 2022, TD Orchestra began its music schools on the outskirts of Kampala, Uganda, in collaboration with MAMA Music (Modern Academy of Music and Arts). The music schools are free of charge to the local community and currently offer instrumental, vocal and dancing lessons, in addition to reading sheet music and basic music theory.

 

In-person instruction is given by the MAMA Music members, while online classes are given by Tatsuya Daniel from the United States and Mr. Will, a musician based in the UK.

 

In April 2023, TD Orchestra established a Uganda-based satellite nonprofit organization, called the Tatsuya Daniel Orchestra Music Foundation. The Uganda-based nonprofit will partner with other Uganda-based organizations, such as Motion Youth Hub (MYH) and Rhino Performers, to establish permanent primary and secondary TD Orchestra schools nationwide.

 

In June 2023, with the help of WorldWide Musicians United (WWMU), the TD Orchestra Music Foundation began renting a private property for the music lessons. In November 2023, the Uganda-based team of Architects of Music took the helm of the TD Orchestra Music Foundation.
